How Does the School Guidance and Counseling Program Work?
Middle school counselors work with students, parents, teachers and other school staff members by conducting activities to maximize each student’s potential. The program is designed to ensure that all students have the opportunity for support in personal, social, and academic pursuits. Individual and small group counseling, which is voluntary and confidential, will be conducted with students.
¿Cómo Trabaja el Programa de guía y a consejeria de la Escuela?
Las consejeras de la secundaria trabajan con los estudiantes, padres, maestros y otros miembros del personal mediante a la realizacion de actividades para maximizar la potencia de cada estudiante. El programa está diseñado para asegurar que todos los estudiantes tengan a la oportunidad de recibir apoyo en actividades personales, sociales y académicos. Consejería individual y en grupos pequeños, la cual es voluntaria y confidencial, se llevarán a cabo con los estudiantes.
Counseling
A student will be seen when:
- He/she requests counseling
- Parents, teachers, administrators refer the child
- The counselor invites the child.

GMS Counseling Referral Form
To refer yourself or someone else to the Counselor, click on the link below. This link will take you to the online reporting form. This information is sent to directly to the Counselors and is confidential. If you are a parent a consent form will be sent home to gain permission to work with your student. You can get this form by requesting one from the counselor or by clicking and printing on that form listed below.
GMS Counseling Consent Form
In order to work with the Counselor on an ongoing basis a parent or guardian must give consent. The form below is the Counseling Consent form. This form cannot be completed online. It MUST be printed, signed and returned. They are available for pick up in the Counselor's office or can be mailed by request. If you have any questions regarding Counseling services at GMS please contact your Counselor.
